Lent, Holy Week & Easter at St Bride's

The season of Lent offers us all a wonderful opportunity for a voyage of self-discovery. It is a time when we can strive to live more simply and less self-indulgently; it also invites us to reflect on the things that really matter in life - including the ways in which we are attentive to the needs of our world.

Holy Week is not merely another story to be told; rather, it is a reality to be inhabited. Join us here at St Bride's for our Holy Week services, to share in this remarkable series of events. Further Information.

Alongside our regular Sunday services, there are three additional ways in which you might like to mark Lent this year. Read On...

'What does a man gain if he wins the whole world and ruins his deepest self?' (Luke 9:25)

What are our goals and values in life? Are they just focused on getting and spending, or do we take time to nurture our inner self and renew our spiritual capital? History is littered with examples of people who have won the jackpot in material terms but made a mess of their lives in every other way. How can we find the right balance in our lives and aim for the right goals?

Lord, help me discern the true values that should underpin my life, and not be seduced by superficial goals. May I learn how to nurture my inner self and so look outwards to others and to you. Amen

St Bride's, Fleet Street is a warm and welcoming Christian community, and one of the most famous and most fascinating historic churches in Central London.

St Bride's is known worldwide as the Journalists' Church, offering a spiritual home to all who work in the media. However, our ministry extends to everyone who lives and works within our parish, and to the thousands of visitors who come to us every year. Our beautiful Wren church provides a place of peace and a spiritual haven in the heart of the city for all who come. With one of the best professional choirs in the country, we are also well known for the outstanding quality of our music and of the worship we offer.

A place of Christian worship for 1500 years, we continue to proclaim the love of God here today. Whether journalist, tourist, City resident or worker, you will always be made very welcome.Alison Joyce
