Biographies
After studying music at Exeter University, Anthony Yates moved to London where he studied voice with Linda Hirst, Jeffrey Talbot and Tay-Cheng Jim. As soloist on the concert platform, Anthony has performed at many venues in London. In partnership with pianist Brian Benedict, Anthony has extensively explored the Romantic and Twentieth century repertoires and recorded a disc of songs and arias. At St John's Smith Square, he performed for Crusaid in a concert featuring Della Jones.

He premiered new works with the Royal Opera House Garden Venture at Dartington Hall. Anthony has sung in two opera by Jonathan Dove for Almeida Opera and ENO works. At the Purcell Room he performed works by Karen Wimhurst and Judith Weir for Vocem Electric Voice Theatre.

Anthony has been a chorus member at Opera Holland Park since 2011. Other chorus work includes Donizetti's Ana Bolena at the Tower of London. In 2012 Anthony sang songs for tenor on board ship from Hong Kong to Sydney.

After a long and busy career as a solo pianist in the UK, Europe, the Americas and Africa, Brian Benedict has dedicated the last few years to Chamber Music and Art Song.  His interest in languages led him naturally to the study of foreign literature, culminating in an all-consuming passion for German Lieder, French Mélodies, Italian Canzone and Spanish Zarzuelas, as well as Russian and Latvian song.  For Brian this supremely intimate and personal style of music is without equal.  He maintains that 'there is nothing to compare with the bringing together of the individual talents of like-minded musicians to create a unique musical experience.'  He has performed at many of the prestigious musical venues throughout Europe, notably the International Festivals of Menton (France), Ravello and Sestri Levante (Italy), Echternach, Wiltz and Luxembourg City (Luxembourg), Badenweiler (Germany), Ascona, Basel and Lucerne (Switzerland).  Some six years ago Brian founded the group Serenata, comprising singers and instrumentalists of an international mix who perform music in the nature of a serenade.
