"Masterful Clarinet! Luca Luciano is a noted Italian clarinettist and composer based in London, having developed an enviable reputation as an instrumental virtuoso around the UK and overseas via recordings and concert hall appearances" (The Musician). Internationally recognized for his groundbreaking contributions to contemporary clarinet music, he starts his career at the age of twelve debuting at one of the most established halls of his home town Naples. Praised by the International Clarinet Association for "the full range of his abilities", Luciano graduated from the Conservatoire of Salerno (Italy), has been awarded the Fellow status at the Higher Education Academy (UK) and, according to the Clarinet & Saxophone Society of Great Britain, he has since "established himself as the friendly face of contemporary clarinet". Described by the BBC Radio as "one of Europe's leading exponent of jazz clarinet", Luca's repertoire also embraces Brahms, Stravinsky, Poulenc, Berio. Luciano has held many master-classes, has regularly premiered his music at St Martin in the Fields and has performed at the South Bank Centre (also recording live for BBC Radio 3 at the Royal Festival Hall), Edinburgh Festival, and Cambridge University. As a recording artist, Luca's solo albums have received much critical acclaim in three continents.
