Lucia Alvarez Nuñez is a pianist from Spain recently graduated from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, in London, where she studied a Masters degree under Martino Tirimo. During this time she was generously supported by the David Gosling Piano Scholarship and has been a TCM Trust Scholar.

During her time at Trinity she won the second prize in Il Circolo Solo piano competition and was finalist of the Alfred Kitchin competition and the John Logmire competition. She has been awarded the David Gosling piano prize for her achievements. This prize is awarded to a student who is an outstanding pianist but has also shown promise as an accompanist/collaborative performer.

As a chamber musician she has always been very active. During her time at Trinity she formed numerous chamber music groups reaching the finals of the Leonard Smith & Felicity Young Duo Competition twice. She also collaborated with numerous singers reaching the finals of The English Song Competition. She was also part of the Wren ensemble conducted by Stephen Maw and has also appeared several times as a piano player with orchestras such as the Galician Youth Symphony Orchestra, Trinity Laban Symphony Orchestra, the Docklands Symphony orchestra, and the Dartington Festival Orchestra.

Before moving to London she studied he BMus under Julio Mourenza reaching always the highest marks in piano and chamber music. During her career she has attended numerous piano masterclasses with musicians as Albert Atenelle, Levon Chilingirian, Jose Ramon Mendez, William Aide, Ian Jones, Imre Rohman, Andras Kemenes, Rivka Golani, Sergio de Simone and Tamara Stefanovich. She has also attended the Dartington Summer school for several years always thanks to the generous support of the school. 

She was also selected to represent Trinity Laban in a masterclass with Stephen Hough in Wigmore Hall (London). She is now studying under the guidance of Mikhail Kazakevich.
