Formed in 2014, the Anern Trio combines young energy and enthusiasm with the wisdom of experience. Prize-winning violinist Lisa Ueda and her husband Ian Byrne Brito have joined forces with noted cellist Nigel Blomiley to form a dynamic ensemble. The Trio performs Masterworks, including some rarities from the Classical period through to the present day, and works written specifically for them. Friends and colleagues join them to include piano or wind works to the repertoire, providing extra variety to concert programmes. The Trio has performed extensively in London and the Home Counties, including rare appearances at Chiswick House, Forty Hall, and is resident at Kenwood House. Future plans include concerts nationwide and abroad.

Lisa Ueda works regularly in Europe and Asia as a solo violinist and recitalist. 2015 included a highly succesful Wigmore Hall debut for the Ueda/Rinaldo Duo promoted by the prestigious Kirckman Concert Society Award. Lisa has been 1st prize winner in many competitions, and has also received many scholarships and awards. A vibrant chamber musician, she performs with colleagues and mentors alike in festivals throughout the season: you can hear her in action as part of the professorial team at British Isles Music Festival, Ueda/Rinaldo Duo as well as the Anern String Trio.

Ian Byrne Brito has developed a successful international performing career as a chamber violist, making appearances in Europe and Asia's most distinguished concert halls and festivals, including Barbican Centre in London, Beijing's National Centre for the Arts and Suntory Hall Tokyo amongst others. His commitment to educating the new generation of string players, has led him to become a Trustee at London's Youth Music Centre and teach a selected class at Highgate School. A man of many interests and a particular passion for antique string instruments, Ian was appointed Manager at Stringers of London in 2015.

Nigel Blomiley is one of the most distinguished principal cellists in the country. Pierre Fournier, with whom he studied, described his playing as 'very musical' and 'creating a marvelous atmosphere'. Bernard Greenhouse described him as 'a damn fine cellist'. From 1981-2005 he was principal cellist of the BBC Concert Orchestra with whom he toured globally. He worked with the broadest spectrum of artists from the likes of Sir Charles Mackerras and Yehudi Menuhin to Sir Cliff Richard and Dionne Warwick. He has a serious commitment to developing and nurturing musical talent in young people, and has held long-term appointments at Chetham's School of Music and the Purcell School. He has also worked as a guest tutor at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
