Trio élégiaque no. 1 in G minor

Weng Soon Tee, Laura Jane Armstrong and Clarissa Lim met in 2016 at the Royal Academy of Music during their undergraduate studies. Initially strangers with a great passion for chamber music, they soon realised they work very well as a trio and have performed across England ever since.

Praised for their awareness of ensemble playing, they were semi-finalists in the St Martin-in-the-Fields International Chamber Music competition in 2017 and following that, in summer 2018, they were invited as Young Artists in the annual Lichfield Festival and Dumfries & Galloway Arts Festival, and also gave their debut performance at St James's Piccadilly. Most recently, the trio performed at St Boltoph without Aldgate and played in a masterclass with John Myerscough from the Doric String Quartet.

The Tee Trio has also been privileged to receive scholarships to study under Thomas Adès in the International Musicians' Seminar at Prussia Cove in 2018, as well as with Carole Presland, Leland Chen, Alexander Bailey and Maureen Smith at the Cadenza Music Course. At the Royal Academy of Music, they received regular coaching from David Smith, Michael Foyle and Nicola Eimer.
