| Matthew Morley studied the organ, harpsichord and piano accompaniment at the Royal Academy of Music. After two years as the HJC Stevens Organ Scholar he was appointed as St Bride's first Assistant Director of Music in 1993.
He has enjoyed parallel careers as recitalist, accompanist and teacher, performing all over the UK and abroad, and teaching at Tonbridge School and the Junior Royal Academy of Music. As well as a number of broadcasts and recordings with St Bride's Choir, he has also made a solo recording of English organ music on the new Kenneth Tickell organ at St Barnabus Church, West Dulwich, and has worked with many of London's choirs as accompanist, including The Bach Choir under Sir David Willcocks.
In 1998 he was appointed Assistant Chorus Master at English National Opera, working on some of ENO's acclaimed productions, most recently The Rake's Progress and Deborah Warner's production of Bach's St. John Passion.
