St Bride's: News

We're nearly there!

seating1.jpgseating2.jpgBy the end of 2003 the new seating was all in place, and was well used over the Advent and Christmas period. It was made in the workshops of Archer Smith and Co, Wiltshire, a firm of joiners and cabinet-makers, and installed by a team of craftsmen in situ, pieces being put together like a giant Lego puzzle. A few minor adjustments remain to be made, and the inscriptional work has yet to be done. We are also expecting some architect designed chairs which will replace the contract seating at present in use. We have reached the three million pound mark and hope to announce that we have achieved our total by the early summer. The City firm of Lazards have been appointed by the Trustees as our fund managers, to ensure that we achieve an annual income sufficient to achieve the aims of the Appeal. The Choir are performing a Spring Concert for the Appeal, on Wednesday 5th May at 7pm and tickets will be available for this from the office. We are also planning a service of celebration to mark the successful conclusion of the appeal on Wednesday 13th October. To all who have given and who are giving to this vital endowment fund, I offer a heartfelt thank-you: you are helping to secure the future of the ministry of this very special church.
