Inspiring! the Congregation Appeal: the Restoration Work begins!

A work in progress: by Hirst Conservation, specialists in the cleaning and painting of traditional stonework. Note the test ceiling area behind the workmen which has already been cleaned.

We are delighted to report that, with almost all the necessary funding in place, we are poised to begin the essential restoration and redecoration work on the interior of St Bride's immediately after Easter.

If things go according to schedule, the scaffolding will be erected on Tuesday 29th March, and the work should be completed by the end of June.

It will be 'business as usual' during this time, with all our normal services and events continuing.  However, there will be scaffolding in place around the inside perimeter of the building, behind the reredos, and across the ceiling - so apologies for any disruption during this time.

Our building is magnificent: once the restoration work is complete, we shall be able to admire a church interior that St Christopher Wren would once again be proud to behold!
