Charity Coffee - October 19, 2004

coffee2004_2.jpgMore than £800 was raised at the church on 24th September as its contribution to the Macmillan Cancer Relief’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. This was more than double last year’s total.

During the event, held in the west end of the church between 10.00 am and 2.30 pm, there was a special visit from the Countess of Halifax, President of the Macmillan Cancer Relief charity. During her visit, Lady Halifax mingled with visitors and voluntary helpers.

A lunchtime concert was held in the church between 1.15 and 1.45 pm. This recital was given by Claire Seaton (Soprano) and Matthew Morley (Piano), who gave their services in aid of the charity. The programme included songs by Parry, Copland and Walton, and was much enjoyed by a most appreciative audience.
