Two new Court members
- May 9, 2007
The Court of the Guild of St Bride has two new members, both of whom have been guild members since the 1970s.
Edward Bevin, a former newspaper editor and international PR consultant in the public sector, has joined the Court for a second time. Editor of the St Bride's website news pages, he was married to Pam - who is associated with the bookstall - in St Bride's in 1970 and both of their children, Clare and Julian were baptised there by the late Prebendary Dewi Morgan. They live in the cathedral city of St Albans.
Philip Keown, a chartered accountant, joined the guild in 1977, six years after Edward, and was baptised in the church by the late Reverend Cyril Armitage. He married Linda in 1984 and their two daughters, Kathy and Harriet were also baptised in the church. The family live in north London.
Philip's father Robert Keown is the longest serving member of the guild, together with former Clerk Brian Chappell. Their membership stretches back to 1954.
