Sunday school children make a big splash - June 21, 2008

ballon_race.jpgNearly 20 members of the Sunday School at St Bride's made a big splash in the churchyard and managed to drench themselves and onlookers in the process! The occasion, organised by Janet Smith and her splendid team of helpers, was to raise awareness of the major problems that many people have, particularly on the African continent, where water availability is negligent, or non-existent.

splash2.jpgThe children took part in exciting games - sometimes with their parents - with the water theme at the heart. More than £400 was raised in a couple of hours and the event was blessed with glorious, sunny weather. Canon David Meara, who was also a keen competitor, thanked Janet and her helpers, for their brilliant efforts in making the big splash such a great success.
