On Friday 29th October at 3pm a celebration of the life of Sir Michael Angus, former Chairman of
Unilever and President of the
CBI was held at St Bride's Church.
The BIDDING PRAYER
The Venerable David Meara delivered the Bidding:
We meet today to celebrate the life and to honour the memory of Sir Michael Angus, dynamic businessman, Chairman of Unilever for six years, a hugely influential figure in British Corporate life, politician manquée, bon viveur, farmer and an active figure in public life through his many directorships and governorships.
We remember Michael today for his ebullient personality, his larger than life character, his warmth and good humour, and his love for his family and his farm in Gloucestershire.
We thank God for the privilege of having known him and worked with him, and we commend him to God today, trusting that at the end of our brief day is the eternity of God's love.
AMEN.
