"Joseph's brothers, seeing how much his father loved him more than all his other sons, came to hate him so much that they could not speak a kind word to him." (Genesis 37:4)

The story of Joseph is all about the power of jealousy, so powerful that his brothers plot his death. Jealousy is poisonous. It messes up relationships and has destructive consequences.

Help me, Lord, to be freed from the power of jealousy in my daily dealings with others. Purify my heart that I am free to love openly and generously. Amen.
