"The Son can do nothing by himself" (John 5: 17)

We are often struck by the resemblance between children and their parents, not just in physical likeness, but in the little gestures, and tone of voice. Jesus told his followers that when they saw him, they also saw his Father. Jesus was the image of his Father, reflecting the life, love and justice of God in human terms. Jesus is our gateway to God.

Lord God, just as you are the image of the Father, so let me imitate you in my life, that you shine through my words and actions. Amen.
