'Courage, it is I. Do not be afraid.' (Mark 6: 50)

The story of Jesus stilling the storm is a metaphor for the power Jesus has to meet us in the crises of our lives and to restore our peace and harmony. He speaks to us the words of personal encouragement - 'Do not be afraid', and gives us the assurance that he comes to us over the waters of life to stand beside us in adversity.

Lord Jesus, increase our weak faith, especially in the storms of life, and help us to look to you, trusting in your power to save. Amen
