'I have given you an example' (John 13: 15)

Jesus has already emphasised his servant ministry. Now he gives a dramatic example of his servanthood. He washes his disciples feet, doing what a slave normally did. He tells his followers to be ready to do the same for each other. What does it mean in my life to be ready to serve others?

Lord, we pray for a deeper knowledge of your service to us in washing the feet of your disciples. Help us to love and serve you in one another. Amen.
