The Artist
James Lind graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in 2021, obtaining a Master’s in Classical Guitar Performance. James studied with Professor Allan Neave and also received tuition from Dr Sasha Savaloni. He has enjoyed lessons with leading guitarists such as associate artist, Paul Galbraith (UK) as well as visiting lectures with Steve Goss (UK), Lukasz Kuropaczewski (Poland), Lorenzo Micheli (Italy), Meng Su (China) and Otto Tolonen (Finland).
During his studies, James performed widely both as a soloist and within chamber ensembles. An advocate of new music, James has been a regular performer of new compositions for guitar. His ensemble highlights include new music premiers at the PLUG festival, performances within guitar quartet and guitar ensemble as well as forming a trio consisting of harp, guitar and mandolin.
As an artist for Live Music Now Scotland, he performs as a soloist in venues across Scotland and England. Concert highlights have included Dunkeld Cathedral Festival, Young at Heart Festival, Greyfriars Kirk and the new Laidlaw Music Centre at the University of St Andrews. James plays on guitars built by Michael Gee and performs with strings by Savarez.
