St Bride's Guild Journalism Bursary

This year the Guild of St Bride are launching a brand new initiative. We are funding a Bursary worth £3000 for a one year postgraduate MA in Newspaper Journalism at City University in London.

The Stationers' Company, which already runs a bursary programme, is helping us to manage the application and selection process, and the Guild will have input in selecting the suitable candidate.

The St Bride's Guild Bursary is intended for a student who would otherwise be prevented by financial difficulties from taking a postgraduate course. They would be invited to become an honorary member of the Guild, and to keep us in touch with their progress.

The award will be run for an initial three years, and will be review at the end of the second year. The Court and Guild fully supports this initiative, which will help to promote the Guild and St Bride's within the media industry, and show that we are actively seeking new ways of engaging with the wider community, especially with young people. As the media Church we are giving practical expression to our desire to encourage the highest standards of journalism amongst the next generation of journalists.
