Cello Pilgrimage Celebration INSPIRE!s

simon_jenkins.jpgSir Simon Jenkins joins renowned cellist Orlando Jopling at St Bride's to raise money for the INSPIRE! Appeal and celebrate the Cello Pilgrimage raising £50,000 for rural churches.

Orlando Jopling 7.JPGOver the last 3 years Orlando Jopling has given 73 recitals in parish churches in 22 counties of England and Wales, playing Bach and other great solo cello works. The concerts celebrate the wonderful heritage of their architecture and craftsmanship, and bring the spaces to life by filling them with the sound of Bach's timeless cello suites. In this time the Cello Pilgrimage project has raised over £50,000 for these rural churches - a cause for celebration. And what better way to celebrate and continue the fund-raising than to have a special reception and concert here at St Brides on October 18th, with all proceeds going towards our INSPIRE! Appeal.

We are delighted that Sir Simon Jenkins, author of England's Thousand Best Churches (in which St Brides of course appears) and Chairman of the National Trust will be joining us to introduce the Cello Pilgrimage project, and we will also have an update on the INSPIRE! Appeal. We will then have the opportunity to appreciate the harmony of music and architecture as Orlando plays some Bach, before raising a glass to the success of both the INSPIRE! Appeal and the Cello Pilgrimage.
