First Food Bank Collection!

First food bank collection with Tim Spencer 1.jpgToday we were able to hand over our first donation!

Pictured is volunteer Tim Spencer with our first collection of food and other goods to help families in need.

You are invited to donate non-perishable items to the Hackney Food Bank, which supports local families in crisis. Bring your gifts to church at any time in Lent and we will pass them on.

The Food Bank is particularly grateful for donations of UHT Juice, UHT Milk, canned rice pudding, toiletries, washing up liquid, canned meat, canned fruit, and toilet rolls which are urgently needed.

Other items that are required are:

  • sugar
  • tinned soup
  • pasta sauces
  • tinned sponge pudding
  • tinned tomatoes
  • cereals
  • tea bags
  • instant coffee
  • instant mashed potato
  • rice
  • rice
  • dry pasta
  • tinned fish
  • jam
  • biscuits
  • snack bars

Why not pick up a shopping list at the back of church to take with you on your next supermarket visit? Remember that several small units of an item are often more helpful than one enormous one.

If you have time to spare, you might also consider giving your time as a volunteer.
