Wren Talk 2020 - Online & In Church

We are delighted to welcome architectural writer and historian Jeremy Melvin for this year's Wren Talk on Thursday 29th October at 7pm. This free event will be streamed live online and there are a limited number of tickets to attend in person.

Melvin will discuss Nicholas Barbon, the man who transformed London. Barbon was a seventeenth century economist, financier and 'general trouble-maker', who turned property development into speculation and invented fire insurance. Further Details & Event Registration →

Our doors are now open for private prayer and general visiting. There is a weekly Choral Eucharist on Sundays at 11am which is also available online to listen to at home together with a virtual Choral Evensong at 5:30pm.

We hope this online provision proves a comfort in these difficult times and a way to preserve our community of faith and fellowship when attending church may be difficult.

Services are streamed as live on Facebook at 11am & 5:30pm each Sunday. They are released concurrently to be listened to at any time on this website in Listen Online, on SoundCloud & as the "St Bride's Church" podcast.

St Bride's, Fleet Street is a warm and welcoming Christian community, and one of the most famous and most fascinating historic churches in Central London.

St Bride's is known worldwide as the Journalists' Church, offering a spiritual home to all who work in the media. However, our ministry extends to everyone who lives and works within our parish, and to the thousands of visitors who come to us every year. Our beautiful Wren church provides a place of peace and a spiritual haven in the heart of the city for all who come. With one of the best professional choirs in the country, we are also well known for the outstanding quality of our music and of the worship we offer.

A place of Christian worship for 1500 years, we continue to proclaim the love of God here. Whether journalist, tourist, City resident or worker, you will always be made welcome.
Alison Joyce, Rector of St Bride's

'Clean the inside of the cup...' (Matthew 23:26)

However smart an exterior we present to the world, it is what is on the inside, in the human heart, that really matters. Our outward behaviour is hollow unless our internal disposition is pure. Cleaning the inside of the cup requires us to be aware of God dwelling within us and to be aware of our own sinfulness. This is not an easy road, but one Christ calls us to follow.

Lord, help us on our journey of conversion that we may purity ourselves within and become more attuned to your will in our lives. Amen.
