REGISTER TO ATTEND

Please join us for a very special evening concert on Sunday 4th December at 5:30pm presented by St Bride’s Choir with acclaimed cellist Raphael Wallfisch.

Entrance is free and all proceeds from a retiring collection will be donated to the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.

On each Sunday evening during Advent, our standard service of Choral Evensong is replaced by a special musical event.

On this the second Sunday of Advent, we are thrilled that the internationally acclaimed cellist, Raphael Wallfisch will be joining us for a concert of music and words on the Advent theme of Darkness and Light.

St Bride’s Choir will perform familiar choral masterpieces including J S Bach’s motet Komm, Jesu Komm, Byrd’s Laetentur coeli, Duruflé’s Pie Jesu and Poston’s Jesus Christ the Apple Tree alongside music for cello and choir by Giles Swayne and Frank Ferko, together with the haunting cello solo, Louange à l’éternité de Jésus from Olivier Messiaen’s Quartet for the End of Time. The choir will also be giving the premiere of a setting of Edwin Muir’s poem The Annunciation composed by Stephen Barlow.

We hope you can attend what promises to be a unique evening of music and words in aid of Ukraine.

The concert is free and ticketless. Please click here to register to attend, which helps us manage numbers and keep you informed about the event.

Seasonal refreshments will be served afterwards.

The concert will end at approximately 6:45pm.
