The Artists

Charis Sykesud, Anna Galloway and Jack Redman met whilst studying at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester in 2020. Charis and Jack regularly give recitals together and they are excited to be joined by Anna this season.

Charis is a Watford-based musician, whose number one love is playing the violin. A graduate of the University of York, she continued her studies at the RNCM. She completed her Master’s there in 2021 with Cecily Ward as her teacher. Charis then moved to the Cayman Islands where she taught violin, piano and singing for a year, returning to the UK in the Summer of 2022. As a freelance, Charis enjoys playing orchestrally and in chamber ensembles, and occasionally as soloist.

Anna is a cellist from London. She graduated from the University of Manchester in Music in 2019 and from the RNCM with a Master’s degree in Cello Performance in 2021. She studied with Nicholas Trygstad, then principal cellist of the Hallé. Since 2023, Anna has been working in the management team of the Academy of St Martin-in-the-Fields, whilst cello playing remains an integral part of her life. She enjoys playing with various high-quality amateur orchestras, most notably as co-principal cellist of Bushey Symphony Orchestra, under George Vass.

Jack is a British pianist and composer. He has played for Glyndebourne Festival Opera and Lyric Opera Ireland, and with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and The Sixteen. Following studies at the Royal Academy of Music, Jack has been a Young Artist at the Oxford and Leeds Song Festivals, the Georg Solti Accademia, and with the City Music Foundation. Jack has performed at venues including Wigmore Hall and St Martin-in-the-Fields. He has won prizes at the AESS English Song Competition and the John Kerr Award.
