The Artist

Tal Walker is a London-based pianist and a Young Steinway Artist. He won a bronze medal at the 18th Osaka International Music Competition and was invited to artist residencies at Villa Lena in Italy and the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity in Canada. Currently, Walker is pursuing his doctoral studies at the Royal College of Music in London, where he has been awarded the RCM Doctoral Bursary and the Stanislawa Kryszek Award. He also serves as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and is a deputy piano and chamber music teacher at RCM’s Junior Department (RCMJD).

His debut album, ‘Fauré, Poulenc, Messiaen: Préludes & Nocturnes,’ produced by the Galaxie-Y Foundation, has garnered acclaim from magazines and radio channels such as International Piano Magazine, Interlude and France Musiques. Walker has performed with orchestras in Belgium, Italy, and Poland and on notable international stages, including Salle Cortot in Paris, Steinway Hall, Middle Temple Hall and Conway Hall in London, as well as the Royal Flemish Opera in Belgium.

In addition to his solo career, he has participated in various chamber ensembles and recorded for Dutch Radio. Tal is a co-founder and member of the London-based Ortus Piano Trio. Walker has also taken part in numerous international festivals and masterclasses with esteemed artists such as Michel Béroff, Rafał Blechacz and Bertrand Chamayou. A graduate of conservatories in the Netherlands and Belgium, Walker attended the École Normale de Musique de Paris, studying with Madame Françoise Thinat and working closely with renowned pianist Philippe Entremont. He is the founder and Artistic Director of the Monsieur Croche concert series, showcasing a vast repertoire of French music, and he is also a recording artist at Antarctica Records.
