The Artists
Amelia Wise is currently in her second year at the Royal Academy of Music, studying clarinet with Sonia Sielaff and bass clarinet with Laurent Slimane. Previously she has studied with Richard Russell, Anna Hashimoto and Claire King. She has also been on two summer courses in Belgium with Annelien Van Wauwe and two masterclasses with David Campbell.
Amelia has previously competed in the final of Bath Young Musician twice and won the Thelma King instrumental award at the Mid-Somerset Festival in 2023. She loves orchestral playing and is part of the University of London Symphony Orchestra where she primarily plays bass clarinet.
She recently performed the Rite of Spring with the Royal Academy Symphony Orchestra and performed a successful recital at Sevenoaks Music Club for which she was selected following the Sevenoaks Young Musician competition. Amelia also enjoys playing the bass clarinet with Claritas Clarinet Quartet.
Outside of music Amelia enjoys going to the gym, running and reading classic literature.
