The Artists

The Boreas Trio is an oboe, bassoon and piano ensemble, formed in 2023 at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama by Lidia Moscoso, Paddy Kearney and Lara Cucic. They all met during their undergraduate degree at Guildhall and decided to start playing together for their Final Recitals in 2024, by performing the well-known Trio for oboe, bassoon and piano by Francis Poulenc. They were quickly noticed for their flair, enthusiasm and synchronicity, and have pursued music-making together ever since.

The Boreas Trio is committed to bringing engaging and accessible repertoire to wider audiences, often performing energetic and widely varied musical genres in concerts. Finding their colourful and contrasting range of sound, particularly in French music, the Boreas Trio also explores a variety of musical atmospheres and languages, often found in post-romantic and contemporary music.

They have received coaching from renowned professors from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama such as Sam Armstrong, Carole Presland and Joy Farrall, and received a Highly Commended distinction at the annual Ivan Sutton Chamber Music Award by the City Music Society, including a paid concert engagement. The Boreas Trio was also recently selected as semi-finalists for the Royal Over-Seas League Music Competition.

They perform regularly around London and have played in venues such as Conway Hall, St Bartholomew the Great (CMS) and Holy Sepulchre.
