CELTIC CALM

Celtic Calm for the Feast of St Brigid: words, music and silence

Monday 2nd February, 2026, at 1:15 pm

All are welcome to join us for a special serivce of prayer, silence and song to mark the feast of Brigid of Kildare.

On Monday 2nd February, our weekly service of Celtic Calm will take a slightly different format from usual to celebrate the feast of our matron saint and the co-patron saint of Ireland – St Brigid – more familiarly known to us here in Fleet Street as St Bride.

We shall be joined by our friends from the Irish Chaplaincy for this special service which takes place in the main Crypt Chapel at 1:15pm.

St Brigid and the abbesses who succeeded her at Kildare were renowned as peacemakers in early Ireland. We shall be observing the one minute Pause for Peace during the service as part of Global Pause for Peace Movement which was launched at Solas Bhríde in Kildare, Ireland, in 2023.

The event will be followed by refreshments. All are warmly invited to attend.
