Choral Evensong – Trinity XII

Sunday 7th September, 2025, at 5:30 pm

Choral Evensong is one of the glories of traditional Anglican worship and the nation’s cultural heritage. All are welcome to attend this beautiful and reflective weekly event.

This service also marks the 650th anniversary of the foundation of the Guild of St Bride in 1375. The Guild commissioned a new anthem in celebration of the event from a former member of St Bride’s Choir, Helen Neeves. Helen is now a member of the BBC Singers and has been rediscovering the joy of composition in recent years. The text of the anthem is adapted from an old Irish hymn in praise of St Brigid, our patron saint.

The service is peaceful and prayerful, steeped in history and tradition and full of wonderful music which is performed by our professional St Bride’s Choir and organist. It lasts under one hour.
