To honour the Coronation of Their Majesties The King and The Queen Consort at Westminster Abbey, St Bride’s Choir will be singing a special Sermon in Music at Evensong comprising two of Handel’s great Coronation Anthems commissioned for the coronation of George II in 1727: Zadok the Priest has been sung prior to the anointing of the sovereign at the coronation of every British monarch since its composition; and My heart is inditing, which sets the traditional text for the coronation of a queen.
Choral Evensong is one of the glories of traditional Anglican worship and the nation’s cultural heritage. The service is performed by our professional St Bride’s Choir and organist. All are welcome to attend this beautiful and reflective weekly event.
This service will not be available online. You can find details of our online worship and access to previous services via our Online Worship page.
