The Artist

Elisabeth Tsai began her musical studies with the cello at the age of four and switched to the piano at seven. As an adolescent she won numerous competitions and appeared across the US, most notably at Carnegie Hall and and on the radio show ‘From the Top’. Her recent seasons include solo and concerto performances in the US, the UK, the Netherlands, Germany and Italy. She was awarded first prize ex aequo at the 2024 Brahms Piano Competition Detmold and was the winner of the 2025 PianoTexas Concerto Competition and the 2025 Guildhall Beethoven Prize.

Elisabeth is currently pursuing an artist diploma at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Ronan O’Hora after graduating from the Yale School of Music studying with Boris Berman and Boris Slutsky. An active chamber musician, Elisabeth was a Fellow at the 2024 Norfolk Chamber Music Festival and was invited to the Smithsonian Chamber Society to perform Beethoven trios on fortepiano. As an educator, she has held a Teaching Artist position at Neighborhood Music School in New Haven and taught at Through the Staff’s music education programme.
