The Artists
Fia Trio is a newly formed London-based chamber group studying at the Royal Academy of Music which has performed at prestigious venues including the Angela Burgess Recital Hall and the Savile Club.
Defne Anar is a harpist based in the UK. She made her international debut at thirteen, performing with the Kharkiv Philharmonic Orchestra after reaching the final of the Glowing Harp Competition. A former principal harpist of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, she was a quarter-finalist in BBC Young Musician 2024 and has performed at venues including the Royal Albert Hall and Barbican Hall. Defne studies at the Royal Academy of Music with Karen Vaughan on a full scholarship.
Constance Clare Hayward is a full scholarship viola student at the Royal Academy of Music, where she studies with Martin Outram, Lionel Tertis, Professor of Viola, and is a recipient of the Sir Elton John Award. A former string leader of the National Youth Orchestra, she has performed at venues including the Royal Albert Hall, Barbican Hall and Royal Festival Hall. An enthusiastic chamber musician, she is a member of the Idalia Quartet and has also appeared with the Academy Manson Ensemble, giving world and UK premieres of contemporary works.
Lily Owens is a 19-year-old flautist based in London and a full-scholarship student at the Royal Academy of Music. She was Principal Flute of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, with whom she performed at the BBC Proms. She has performed as a concerto soloist, including Huw Watkins’ Flute Concerto at Wells Cathedral, and has premiered James B. Wilson’s Siren Song.
