The Artist
Jérôme Faucheur was born in Lille, France in 1953. He began piano studies at the age of eight, and later organ at 13. His organ teachers were Jeanne Joulain, Jean Langlais and Rolande Falcinelli, all students of the great organist Marcel Dupré. Among several organ awards, he won the First Organ and Improvisation Prize at the National Conservatory of Lille. Later, he became organist in various churches near Lille. As Titular Organ teacher in musical schools, he wrote for his pupils an Organ Method translated into three langages and edited in Belgium. He is also author of many reports in organ magazines. He has given recitals throughout Europe in the most famous organ festivals, as well as in the USA, Canada, Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore. This coming Sunday, Jérôme will play in Westminster Abbey for the second time.
