The Artists
Kristina Ammattil is a south-Indian soprano training at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Marie Vassiliou. Over 2024/25, Kristina was a Young Artist with Waterperry Opera, soloist for India’s Premier of Haydn’s The Creation with Madras Guild of Performing Arts (October), Chorus for Strauss’ Die Fledermaus with Guildhall Opera School (November), soloist for Louis Andriessen’s De Stijl with UBU Ensemble under Simon Wills (January). She performed the title role of Elisabeth Jacquet’s Cephale et Procris with the Guildhall Historical Department (March) and Handel’s Messiah with the Tonbridge Philharmonic Society (April).
Upcoming performances include: Julian Anderson’s Mitternachtslied with BCMG at the Raffael Court, V&A Museum (July) and Mater Gloriosa for Mahler 8 with The Bach Choir at St Paul’s Cathedral (October). She sings regularly with the London Philharmonia Chorus, holds a choral scholarship with St Mary’s Church and directs the local Junior Choir. Kristina is generously supported by Leverhulme Arts Trust.
Ben Cook is a London-based accompanist, recently graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with a Master’s degree and Concert Recital Diploma in Piano Accompaniment. He studied with Pamela Lidiard and Caroline Palmer. He has a particular passion for working with singers, especially within the highly varied repertoire of English art song.
Recent recitals include venues such as St George’s Hanover Square, St James’s Piccadilly and St John’s Harrow, performing alongside artists including singers Mark Padmore and Roderick Williams. Ben also enjoys relationships with the St Endellion festivals, London Musical Theatre Orchestra and Côr y Boro (The Borough Welsh Choir).
