At the age of nine, Liao was admitted to the China National Radio Children’s Choir and participated in many recordings and public performances with them. In 2018, he joined the Imperial 9 Symphony Orchestra in Beijing, rehearsing and performing a public concert with the orchestra in the Forbidden City Concert Hall.

As an undergraduate, he performed at a variety of venues including St Michael’s Church Highgate, All Saints Church Blackheath, St George’s Church Beckenham, Waltham Abbey Church, The Royal London Hospital, Old Royal Naval College Chapel and St Mary of Charity Church Faversham, receiving warm responses from local residents. He also performed chamber music concerts in historic buildings in Central Beijing in summer 2024.
