A service of thanksgiving for the lives of Christopher Hudson and Kirsty McLeod will take place at St Bride’s Church, the Journalists’ Church, on Thursday 9th May at 11:30am.
Hudson, journalist, novelist and screenwriter, died in September 2023. His career began at Faber as drama editor before joining The Spectator as literary editor and film critic in 1971 and eventually moving on to the Evening Standard and The Telegraph, whilst simultaneously writing several novels including The Final Act and Colombo Heat.
McLeod was an historian and biographer whose first book, The Wives of Downing Street, was published in 1976. After a spell as columnist for The Telegraph in the 1990s, she returned to book publishing, including The Best Gardens in Italy: A Traveller’s Guide, showcasing her passion for gardening and travel.
