Memorial: Kim Sengupta
A service of thanksgiving for the life of Kim Sengupta will take place at St Bride’s Church, the Journalists’ Church, on Thursday 6th February at 2:30pm.
Kim Sengupta was the Defence and Diplomatic Editor for The Independent, for whom he had worked for nearly 30 years.
During his career, in which he was also a reporter for the Daily Mail and the now-defunct Today newspaper before joining The Independent, Sengupta covered conflicts including in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Libya, the Balkans, Ukraine, Georgia, Kosovo, Mali, Sudan, Somalia, Kashmir, Israel, Gaza and Northern Ireland.
A regular at St Bride’s annual Journalists’ Commemorative Service, Sengupta was also on the panel of judges for Private Eye’s Paul Foot Award for Investigative Journalism.
