Memorial: Tom Tickell

A memorial service giving thanks for the life of Tom Tickell, journalist, will take place at St Bride’s Church, the Journalists’ Church, on Thursday 21st May at 11:30am.

Tickell had a long career as a business and personal finance journalist, predominantly at The Guardian but also at The Mail on Sunday and Sunday Telegraph.

Prior to joining The Guardian for a twelve-year stint in 1970, Tickell worked at ITN and The Economist.

Outside of journalism, he acted as a Mental Health Act Commissioner and, for several years, a member of the Mental Health Review Tribunal.

A gifted raconteur and mimic, Tickell was a regular visitor to Speakers’ Corner as listener and orator.
