The Artists

Soprano Miyu Himeta completed her undergraduate studies at Tokyo College of Music and graduated with distinction from the Master’s programme at Aichi University of the Arts, receiving the Outstanding Student Award, the Kanbe Foundation Award and the Nagakute City Mayor’s Award for Cultural and Artistic Promotion. Operatic roles to date include Morgana in Alcina and Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro under Yusuke Kumehara. Further credits include Lucia in The Rape of Lucretia and Marie in La Fille du Régiment in opera scenes under Chris Hopkins.

Her achievements include being a finalist in the 78th Student Music Concours of Japan.

She is currently in her first year of postgraduate studies at the Royal Academy of Music, studying under Mary Nelson. She is a recipient of the Royal Academy of Music Scholarship associated with the Molly Bridge Award, as well as the TAU Scholarship and the Zen Club Scholarship.

A collaborative pianist, Hana Arita completed her Bachelor of Music in Music Liberal Arts/Pianist Performance at Tokyo College of Music. During her studies she was awarded a merit-based scholarship for exceptional musical and academic performance. After moving to England in 2023, she completed her Master of Music in Performance with Distinction at Royal Holloway, University of London supervised by Professor Mary Dullea and Doctor Alexander Soares. Since then, Hana has been working as a piano accompanist with Mini Mozart and as a piano tutor with Wandsworth Music.

Hana was also trained as a ballet pianist in Tokyo. For her Bachelor’s degree, she wrote her thesis titled ‘Expressivity of Folk Music and Dance in Tchaikovsky’s Ballet Music.’ She has also started working part-time as a pianist in 2026 for the Young Dancers Programme at Elmhurst Ballet School in Birmingham and as a freelance pianist at Acosta Dance Foundation in London.
