The Artist
Oliver King is Director of Music and Organist at St Mary’s Church, Saffron Walden, and combines this post with a busy and varied career as a conductor, performer and music therapist. Prior to this, Oliver held full-time posts as College Organist and Head of Vocal Studies at Wellington College and Chapel Organist at King William’s College.
Oliver initially studied at the Royal College of Music and the Malmö Academy of Music. As a student he held the Michael James Trust Organ Scholarship at St Martin-in-the-Fields in London. He is a prizewinner of the Royal College of Organists and holds the Fellowship Diploma. Having undertaken further training at Anglia Ruskin University, Oliver is a qualified music therapist and works as a Senior Music Therapist with Suffolk Music Therapy Services.
Oliver has performed throughout the UK, Europe and the USA and maintains a specific interest in improvisation.
