Violinist Kwan-Lam Lau is a postgraduate student at the Royal Academy of Music under the tutelage of Professor HU Kun. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama where she studied with Professor Arisa Fujita. She also studied improvisation with Professor David Dolan.

As a soloist and chamber musician, Kwan-Lam performs regularly in the UK, Europe and Hong Kong. She is a winner of many awards and international competitions. She has benefitted from the Hong Kong Scholarship for Excellence Scheme presented by the HKSAR and is honoured with the title of ‘Hong Kong Scholar’. She was also awarded the tuition fee scholarship from the Guildhall School and the Henry Wood Accommodation Trust, as well as the Royal Philharmonic Society Instrument Purchase Grant 2016 supported by the Sir John Barbirolli Memorial Foundation.

Apart from scholarship support, Kwan Lam would like to thank the Royal Academy of Music for the generous loan of the Bolognese violin, c. 1760.

Malaysian pianist Hao Zi Yoh began her music studies at the age of three and performed at Carnegie Hall as a gold medallist in the Bradshaw and Buono International Piano Competition at the age of 12. Two years later, she moved to Germany to study at the Hochschule für Musik in Freiburg under Elza Kolodin. In 2017, she completed her MMus and Professional Diploma studies at the Royal Academy of Music under Christopher Elton and has been based in London since then.

Praised for her sensitivity to tone colours (PianoNews), Hao Zi won top prizes in many international piano competitions and performed around Europe, USA, China, Japan and Malaysia both as a soloist and chamber musician. Currently, Hao Zi continues to develop her performing career being a musician of the Keyboard Charitable Trust and Talent Unlimited, in addition to tutoring at King’s College, London. Apart from giving masterclasses, Hao Zi also organised livestreams and charity fundraisers during the London-lockdown 2021.
