Born in France and currently based in London, Louis-Victor Bak is a solo and chamber music pianist. After starting the piano at the age of fourteen, following seven years of flute studies, Louis-Victor was taught by Vinca Bonnaud and Chrystel Saussac at the Conservatoire de Lyon (CRR), and Laurent Boullet in Berlin. He moved to London in 2019 to study at the Royal College of Music with Edna Stern for a Bachelor of Music degree.
Louis-Victor has recently performed as a soloist at La Seine Musicale, St James’s Piccadilly, and the Amaryllis Fleming Hall at the Royal College of Music. He has performed in the UK (St Mary’s Perivale, St Paul’s Bedford, St Alfege Greenwich, St James’s Bushey, St Bride’s, St John’s Waterloo, St James’s Paddington, the Russia Culture House in London, Routh Hall Bromsgrove…), in France (Salle Witkowski, Palais St Jean, Musée des Tissus et des Arts Décoratifs de Lyon, Salle Debussy), in Spain, Poland, Sardinia and Switzerland. Louis-Victor has recently performed with Paul Jenkins and the Knighton Chamber Orchestra in Leicester.
Over the years, Louis-Victor has had the opportunity to attend masterclasses and to study with Stanislav Ioudenitch, François Dumont, Piotr Paleczny, Dina Yoffe and Vanessa Latarche. In 2022, he joined the Debussy promotion of the Académie Musicale Philippe Jaroussky where he benefited from the advice of Cédric Tiberghien, as well as that of Nemanja Radulovic, Anne Gastinel and Philippe Jaroussky in chamber music.
Louis-Victor is prizewinner of numerous international competitions: the North International Competition, the Windsor International Piano Competition and the Franz Liszt Center International Piano Competition among others. In 2022, he was also selected to take part in the prestigious Maria Canals Competition in Barcelona.
Louis-Victor Bak is an artist of Talent Unlimited UK and The Keyboard Charitable Trust, and also a 2022 recipient of the Royal Philharmonic Society Julius Isserlis Scholarship. From September 2023, he will continue his studies at the Royal College of Music for a Master of Performance as a scholar.
