The Artist
Born in Girona in 1993, Meritxell Noguer started to play the piano at the age of eight. She then studied for the Professional Degree at the Isaac Albéniz Conservatory in Girona with Ma Ángeles Pardàs obtaining the highest piano score. Later she studied at the High School of Music of Catalonia (ESMUC) with Adolf Pla and Denis Losev and at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London, where she completed the Master’s Degree in Performing, with a scholarship from the same institution, studying with Peter Bithell and Carole Presland.
During her training she has received lessons and advice from Professors Luiz de Moura, Alexis Golovin, Laura Roberts, Carlos Marques, Kennedy Moretti and Francisco Poyato, among others. She has been successful in numerous competitions, including Second Prize in the VII Vila de Salou Musical Interpretation Contest (2008), Second Prize in the Interpretation Contest of the Isaac Albéniz Conservatory (2009), an Honorable Mention in the Young Performers Contest of Catalonia (2010) and Second Prize and Public Prize in the Arjau Contest (2013).
She has performed in national and international venues such as Milton Court in London, L’Auditori in Barcelona and Auditori Viader in Girona. Her interest in bringing classical music to a wider audience has led her to perform concerts in schools and civic centres in Catalonia and England. In 2016, she received the Revelation Prize of the Magic Room Cultural Association, acknowledging her inspirational concerts.
