The Artists

Pavlos Triantaris acquired his Ptychion (roughly equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree) in piano performance in 2010. He has been indulging in the study of pipe organ literature and its liturgical use since his first acquaintance with the king of instruments at the age of 19 in his homeland, Greece; initially only with a meagre 10-stop instrument which was the only organ in proximity, and without a tutor available. Even so, his enthusiasm for the organ resulted in numerous related appointments, not least among them his organist duty for the Hellenic premiere of Louis Vierne’s Missa Solemnis in 2016.

His organ instructors include Christos Paraskevopoulos, Jonathan Price and Benjamin Chewter. He has served as organ scholar at Chingford Parish Church, and accompanied the choir for services at major churches such as Christchurch Priory and Durham Cathedral. His next appointment was at St Thomas of Canterbury Church, Brentwood, for a further scholarship. As of 2022, he is organist with Letchworth Traditional Anglican Church, the Traditional Anglican Cathedral of St Swithin (Lincoln City), and the Poscimur choir.

Pavlos has given recitals at numerous other venues including King’s Lynn Minster and Truro Cathedral. He occasionally serves at other posts as freelance organist and is an active member of the Organists’ Associations of Bristol and Lincolnshire.

Beyond these endeavours, he has also been studying the chitarrone since March 2026, and his activity also includes compositional projects, starting from small-scale works such as hymn tunes, to more recent work such as a Lied with lyrics from ‘Lord of the Rings’, a Symphony in five movements (work in progress, one movement ready and performable as a Concert Rhapsody), and a collection of solo organ works ‘Hiraeth’.

Pavlos’ free-time endeavours will rarely find him away from the exploration of the English countryside, which he profoundly admires, or literature, with a particular proclivity for C S Lewis and J R R Tolkien.
