Queentet is an all-female brass quintet with members from Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. Founded in 2024, Queentet have performed widely across London and the UK, with recital venues including the David Josefowitz Recital Hall, Angela Burgess Recital Hall and Duke’s Hall at the Royal Academy of Music, as well as in Regent Hall, Oxford Street, the Hospital of St Cross, Winchester and Southwark Cathedral. Queentet were awarded second place in the RAM Musicians’ Company Brass Ensemble Prize in 2025 and 2026, as well as a commendation in the 2025 RAM Historical Women Composers Prize.
Recent projects include the performance and recording of a piece by Luca Zucchi, commissioned by the Lord Mayor of Westminster and premiered in the Angela Burgess Recital Hall in October 2025. The piece, Fairer Westminster, has since been professionally recorded and released. Upcoming engagements for Queentet include appearances at St Pancras Church, Euston, Winchfield Festival and Goring Gap Festival, as well as a return to the Royal Academy of Music’s Duke’s Hall in June 2026. Queentet is also delighted to have been selected for the 2026 Philip Jones International Brass Ensemble Competition, and looks forward to travelling to Birmingham to participate this July.
Queentet met as students at the Royal Academy of Music, where they have received coaching from acclaimed brass players including Steph Dyer and Matt Gee. Alongside chamber music, Queentet members’ recent and upcoming engagements include work with ensembles such as the Philharmonia Orchestra, Malmö Symphony Orchestra, Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, London Sinfonietta and the Royal Swedish Orchestra, and performances in venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Sinfonia Smith Square, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Cadogan Hall and Vortex Jazz Club.
