The Artist

Originally from Tasmania, Australia, Claire Angel Bonner is a 19th century guitar specialist currently based in Italy. A truly international artist, she is active as both soloist and chamber musician.

In 2023 Claire’s solo engagements took her to Switzerland, France, Italy and the Faroe Islands, across the UK, where she performed in London, Leeds and Edinburgh (for the Edinburgh Society of Musicians), and across Australia where she performed for the Sydney Bach Society, Mona Museum, and the University of Western Australia, as well as giving numerous public and private recitals in Hobart, Northern Tasmania, Adelaide, and Perth.

In Italy she has appeared at the Festa Farnese in Parma, the Piacenza Guitar Festival, I Mandolinisti Bustesi, the prestigious Gallerie d’Italia, and the State Archives of Milan, as well as the Reggia di Caserta, and at Castello Sforzesco in Milan. She was also an ensemble prizewinner in the 12th Concorso chitarristico ‘Città di Voghera’.

“Pure talent” – Patrick Dumont, L’Indépendant

“Her music style is almost too mesmerising to behold” – Hobart Guitar Society

“Her playing is so intense – so utterly captivating. Each and every note is carefully crafted and executed in such a way that the music doesn’t so much reach out to the audience as it does draw them in. A rare quality indeed.” – Duncan Gardiner

“The duo [Noli-Bonner] fascinated for its exquisite stylistic elegance, the great care given to phrasing and colours and an enviable technical mastery … two performers with great musical talents and deserving of the prolonged applause of the public.” – Mauro Bardelli, La Libertà

“Just by the sound of the guitar, they were transfigured from the stage noise proper to opera into the atmosphere of a musical salon, a truly intimate, beautiful and luminous world, by this young but already great musician.” – Vita Guillot
