The Artists

Dominic Stokes is a violist, composer and creative who has established a reputation as one of London’s leading young contemporary artists. His passion and musical facility for all things contemporary has led him to work with groups at the forefront of the new-music scene, such as the Riot Ensemble, ‘The supergroup of top soloists playing new music’, the Manchester Camerata, O/ Modernt, including appearing on BBC Radio 3 in a broadcast from the Barbican’s Milton Court concert hall, playing the music of Frank Zappa.

His skill in solo performance and chamber music has led him to tour parts of Europe, Asia and North America, and enabled him to partake in many of Europe’s top festivals, such as the Dartington summer festival and the Festival Resonances academy. He has been selected for chamber music masterclasses from Alfred Brendel, Hugo Ticciati and Andrew Watkinson, and solo masterclasses from Max Baillie, Sarah-Jane Bradley, and Simon Rowland-Jones. Alongside his ensemble, Rothko Collective, Dominic is dedicated to opening up classical music to a wider audience, to make it more accessible and to change the way it is perceived in society.

British pianist Stephen Gutman has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in the Royal Festival Hall, the Wigmore Hall, Carnegie Weill Hall in New York, Ueno Bunka Keikan in Tokyo, and throughout Europe. Stephen is passionately committed to the music of our time. Some of the many composers who have written pieces for him include Julian Anderson, Tansy Davies, Gabriel Jackson and Colin Matthews.

His enthusiasm for French keyboard repertoire including the French Baroque led to a recording of the complete keyboard works of Rameau played on the modern piano for Toccata. The final CD was chosen as CD of the month by MusicWeb International and received 5 stars in BBC Music Magazine. Other recordings are available on NMC and his performances have been broadcast on BBC Radio 3, Deutsche Rundfunk and France Musique. Stephen has given piano masterclasses in the UK and internationally. He gives regular piano courses and chamber music courses at Benslow Music and Jackdaws.
