The Artist

Stelios Kyriakidis is a guitarist and composer whose music reflects his background in contemporary music as well as his classical training. While his compositions have elements of a wide-ranging palette such as classical, film and contemporary music, Stelios achieves a unique sound by always aiming to write direct yet rich music that elevates the human spirit.

Stelios has released two EPs with original music for solo guitar. ‘Small Primal Voices’, his debut, was released in 2017 and was described by the Musician magazine as “an EP of hypnotic pieces and well-received soundtracks using just his guitar”. ‘Optica’ followed in September 2020, with Minor7th stating that “Kyriakidis has a delightful way of creating bright, shimmering melodies that you want to hear again”.

A performer/composer, Stelios has performed and had his music showcased in venues such as the Robin Howard Theatre (UK), Athens Video Dance Project (Official music 2011, Greece), Vault Festival (UK), Arion Academy Guitar Festival (Greece) and King’s Place (UK). Three of his compositions have been published by the UCLA library (USA).

Stelios holds a Master of Music in Performance (classical guitar) from the Trinity Laban Conservatoire in London and has been supported during his studies by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation. He has also studied Harmony, Orchestration and Arranging.

Stelios’s latest single, ‘A Moment and A Thousand Years’, was released in 19th November 2021. It is part of a series of solo guitar compositions that were written during the lockdown period between late 2020 to summer 2021. This piece will be performed by the composer himself on March 2022 in the 21st Century Guitar conference in Indiana, USA. Other upcoming performances in 2022 include Wesley’s Chapel in Islington and St Alfege Church in Greenwich.
