The Artist

Tom Hodgkinson, ATCL, is classical guitarist from Essex, currently studying at Junior Trinity Laban under Rebecca Baulch and Martin Fogel. Alongside his studies at Trinity, he is also studying under world-renowned teacher, Paolo Pegoraro at the Segovia Academy in Pordenone, Italy. In addition to this, Tom also enjoys regular lessons with legendary guitarist, John Williams.

Tom has a great passion for solo guitar playing, having given an impressive amount of recitals across the UK despite his young age. In addition to his passion for solo recital playing, Tom has performed alongside numerous high-quality ensembles; some highlights of these are a tour of Spain with the National Youth Guitar Ensemble, of which Tom has been the leader for three years, and a tour with the National Youth Orchestra playing at venues such as the Bridgewater Hall and the BBC Proms in the Royal Albert Hall.

In addition to this, Tom has had many successes in competitions, including the Denver International Guitar Competition, the Leicester Guitar Competition and, most notably, his recent first place in the Essex Young Musician of the Year 2022, in which he competed against established professionals up to the age of 28.

In his spare time, Tom is a keen jazz guitarist and enjoys spending time with his three dogs.
