The Artist

Usually praised for his highly poetic and original performances, as well as for his musicality and performance ease, Víctor Braojos studied for his BMus (Hons) at Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (Barcelona), working with Jordi Masó and Pierre Reach, and supported by a scholarship from the Anna Riera Foundation. Later, he moved to London where he pursued his Master’s in Piano Performance (Distinction and Concert Recital Diploma) at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, working with Martin Roscoe and benefitting from an Excellence Scholarship Award given by the GSMD.
During this time, he has completed his musical formation working with world-acclaimed performers such as Imogen Cooper DBE, Stephen Hough CBE, Robert Levin and Stephen Kovacevich, being chosen at the same time to join the roster of artists supported by renowned institutions such as the Imogen Cooper Music Trust and the Keyboard Charitable Trust.

Victor has won prizes and awards in national and international Piano Competitions, including 1st Prize in the Catalunya Piano Competition (youngest winner ever in the 50 years of this competition), 1st Prize in the Barcelona Piano Competition, 1st Prize in the Girona Musical Competition and 2nd Prize at the prestigious ‘El Primer Palau’ Competition.

His commitment to combining classical repertoire with contemporary music has led him to give world premieres of works by some of the most renowned Spanish composers such as Benet Casablancas, Joan Magrané, Marc Migó and Josep Maria Guix and, alongside his soloist activity, he works with several chamber music ensembles and orchestras, including many collaborations with the Barcelona Medical College Orchestra, conducted by Alfons Reverté.

He has performed in venues across Spain, the UK, France and Russia, including renowned venues such as the Palau de la Música Catalana, Palau Maricel de Sitges, the National Auditorium of Barcelona and London’s Steinway Hall. During 2021-22 he will also make his début recitals at the Ribble Valley International Piano Week, Granollers Auditorium and 30, Pavilion Road Hall, Knightsbridge, as well as releasing his new CD, ‘Shreds of light’.
